Biography

Professor of Politics in the Department of Political Science and Public Administration, Makerere University, Kampala. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) Degree (Honors) in International Relations from Makerere University, Kampala; (M.A.) degree in Diplomatic Law, University of Westminster, London; Master of Laws (LLM) and Doctor of Philosophy (DPhil) degrees in International Law from the University of Sussex, Brighton, UK. Apuuli was a British Academy Fellow at the African Studies Centre, University of Oxford, U.K. (2010), and Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence, Stetson Law School, Gulfport, Florida, USA (2016). He has also served as a Conflict Prevention, Management and Resolution Advisor, Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), Republic of Djibouti (2008), and Assistant IGAD Facilitator for Somalia Peace and National Reconciliation, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (2009).
