Stephanie Wolters is a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute for Security Studies, where she leads ISS’ work on Central Africa. She is also a Director of Okapi Consulting, specialising in media for peacebuilding. She has been working in the Great Lakes region since 1998 when she was posted to DR Congo as correspondent for the BBC, Reuters and The Economist. She was also the first News Editor for Radio Okapi. Stephanie holds a master’s degree in African Studies / International Economics from Johns Hopkins University.
