Stella Mystica Sabiiti is the UN Women Advisor to the African Union’s Network of Women in Conflict Prevention and Mediation. She has developed an approach to conflict transformation, grounded in her personal experience of war, torture, and refugee life. Previously, Stella served as team leader for the operationalisation of the African Peace and Security Architecture at the AU and in the Gender and Development Directorate in the Bureau of the Chairperson. In 2002, she led a successful peace process with the Uganda National Rescue Front rebel group. Stella taught at the European Peace University in Austria and at the University of Basel in Switzerland.
