Dr Callist Tindimugaya is a Water Resources Specialist working with the Ministry of Water and Environment in Uganda for over 33 years. Currently, he is the Commissioner for Water Resources Planning and Regulation with overall responsibility for ensuring sustainable and equitable utilization and protection of water resources of Uganda.
He has represented Uganda for over 20 years in international and transboundary water resources programs and initiatives such as the Nile Basin Initiative (NBI), Inter Government Authority on Development (IGAD), UNESCO’s Intergovernmental Hydrological Program, United Nations Economic Commission for Europe etc.
He spearheaded the establishment of the Water Resources Institute in Uganda in 2018 and has been at the heart of its operationalization. He has set up mentorship program within the institute for your young and mid-career ladies where so far 90 ladies have been mentor in professional and leadership aspects of their careers. He is committed to gender equality and always gives equal opportunities to both men and women within his over 150 workforce.
