Arthur Ssebbugga Kimeze is the Project Manager-Climate Finance for the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI). GGGI’s vision is a low-carbon, resilient world of strong, inclusive, and sustainable growth, and its mission is to support Members in the transformation of their economies into a green growth economic model. GGGI has 48 member countries, including Uganda. In Uganda, one of GGGI’s flagship projects is the establishment of the Climate Finance Unit in Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development. This is funded by the UK Foreign Commonwealth Development Office and the European Union Mission in Uganda. Arthur has degrees from Makerere University, University of Derby, and Harvard University.
Over the years, in the employment of government and development partners, Arthur has provided progressively increasing responsibility, technical advisory, and management support for the successful design and implementation of climate finance, climate change mitigation, adaptation, resilience, and natural resources management endeavours. In those assignments, he has collaborated on multi-actor projects with international organisations and the private sector in Uganda and the rest of the world.
