Olutoyin Oluremi Falade is a dedicated peacebuilding expert specializing in the realms of peacekeeping and the Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) agenda within Nigeria and the broader African context. Her work has involved preparing the military and civilian security agencies such as the Nigeria Police, Nigerian Civil Defence Corps, and the Joint Civilian Task Force for peacekeeping within Nigeria and outside. She has also contributed to transforming the Farmer-Herder’s conflict in Nigeria and globally through dialogues.
Olutoyin is an advocate for recognizing the critical intersections of gender and conflict and has provided consultancy services on various international initiatives, including the ECOWAS Peace and Security Architecture Project and the implementation of strategies to counter Gender-Based Violence (GBV). Olutoyin is a Rotary Peace Fellow pursuing a Postgraduate Diploma in Peacebuilding and Conflict Transformation at Makerere University, Uganda. She is an alumnus of Kofi Anan International Peacekeeping Training Center (KAIPTC), Ghana; GOREE Institute, Senegal; United States Institute for Peace (USIP), USA; Netherlands Institute of International Relations “Clingendael”. Her professional knowledge and skills cover conflict prevention and management; alternative dispute resolution (ADR); negotiation and mediation; early warning and response amongst others.
